Sarah Jackson is a poet, curator and critic who works at the intersections of writing, art and technology to explore questions of social and environmental justice. Bringing together creative and critical practice, her current work focuses on geology, acoustics and data poetics. The recipient of the Seamus Heaney Prize for Poetry, a BBC New Generation Thinker Award and an AHRC Leadership Fellowship, Sarah is currently Vice Chancellor’s Fellow at Northumbria University. 

Sarah’s works include Pelt (Bloodaxe 2012); Tactile Poetics: Touch and Contemporary Writing (Edinburgh University Press, 2015); Unidentifiable Literary Objects, a special issue of parallax, co-edited with Camilla Bostock (2019); Literature and the Telephone: Conversations on Poetics, Politics and Place (Bloomsbury, 2023); Bunker: Stories and Poems from a Nuclear Age (Five Leaves, 2024); and Telepoetics, co-edited with Philip Leonard and Annabel Williams (forthcoming from Edinburgh University Press). Calling Across Borders (2021) was shortlisted for the Best Research Film in the AHRC Research in Film Awards, and Voice Notes, created with Hardi Kurda, was performed live at the Southbank Centre for the New Music Biennial 2025.
